St Patrick’s Day celebrations planned across Ireland

St Patrick’s Day maybe celebrated all over the world, but the best celebrations can be found on the Emerald Isle itself. Events are going on right across the country, with numerous villages and towns taking part in the festivities alongside Ireland’s major cities to bring locals and visitors a bountiful selection of St Patrick’s Day parades, funfairs, and street parties.

Ireland’s official celebration takes place in Dublin between 12th and 17th March and of course it is one big party. Attractions include one of Ireland’s biggest literary festivals, a treasure hunt – which involves solving clues dotted around the cultural venues of the city – and even a Cuban Salsa festival (Dublin’s first!). Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without the renowned and spectacular St Patrick’s Day parade, which brings the festivities to a close on the day itself.

If you would prefer to explore the action going on in Belfast, however, then you’ll be immediately swept up in the excitement of the city’s lively St Patrick’s Day Carnival. The city is also the starting point for the Rith 2010 – a 1,600 km relay-run, on 9th March, which finishes in Galway city. Thousands take part in the huge run with a specially designed baton, which holds a secret message from Ireland’s President – to be revealed at the end of the run, from the reviewing stand in Eyre Square, Galway.

Moving away from the cities, there is plenty to do in Ireland’s smaller towns and villages for a regional twist on the celebrations. Armagh, Downpatrick, Killarney, Kiltimagh, Limerick, Sligo and Cork all hold their own festivities, and are brilliant choices to get more of a taste of Ireland.

Your First Time Passport – Getting One Can Be Simpler Than You’d Think

Applying for a New Passport for the first time can be very confusing. Don’t worry though, because it’s perfectly fine to feel that way. After all, you need to deal with a lot of things for the first time, fill in forms, and submit documents. The truth is that applying for passports doesn’t have to be confusing or even stressful. We’ll show you in the following paragraphs how you can easily apply for one minus the confusion and the hassle.

First of all, you need to be familiar with the different forms used when applying for passports. There are forms used when you’re applying for the first time, others are used when renewing it, and there are those that one fills in when they’ve lost their passport. But for the purposes of this article, let’s just focus on what you need for now.

Since you’re a first time passport applicant, you’ll need to fill in the DS-11 form. This is the form used by people who never had passports before. The good thing is that you can already download this form at the US Department of State’s website. You have the choice of filling the form in on your computer then printing it out, or you could also print out the form first then fill it in later by hand. What’s important here is the convenience it gives you. You no longer need to go to the passport office to get this form.

Once your form is complete along with the necessary documents, you’ll need to submit it for processing. For passport processing, you can choose to either have it go through routine processing, or have it expedited. Routine processing will generally be fine if you don’t need your passport to travel in the next ten weeks, as routine processing generally takes four to six weeks to complete.

Meanwhile, if you need to have your passport processed in less than four weeks, then you need to have your application expedited. As the name suggests, an expedited passport takes a lot faster to process than those that go through routine processing. In other words, expedited passports are given priority over routine ones.

In the case of an expedited First Time US Passport, they are usually processed within two to three weeks and is thus the choice of travelers who need to have their passports quickly.  If you need to travel within that period, getting an expedited passport is an obvious choice.

Speeding up the process of your application takes more resources. That’s why expedited passports have a small additional fee on top of the regular passport processing fees. Don’t worry about this though, as the price you have to pay isn’t the hefty, and it pays for itself in the form of speed and convenience that you get.

When it comes to applying for a First Time Pass Port, you have two options to go about it. First, you can choose the routine passport processing that doesn’t require an extra fee, but may be too slow if you need to travel soon. Then there’s the expedited passport processing. The price that you pay for this kind of service is offset by the convenience and speed that it affords you.

How to Add U.S. Passport Pages to Your Passport

There are two instances where you can request extra United States passport pages. The first one is if you only have two to four pages left in your passport. The other is when you travel regularly and thus need more passport pages than normal. If you fall under either of these situations, then it’s natural that you’ll want to find out how to add passport pages to your US passport. We’ll talk about it in detail in the succeeding paragraphs.

    If you have two to four passport pages remaining in your US passport, then you’ll need to apply for additional pages right away. But why hurry? You need to act quickly especially if you’re planning on traveling soon since routine passport processing takes four to six weeks to complete. So it pays to accomplish this early so you can get your passport pages soon.

There are two requirements when requesting for passport pages in this situation. First, you need to fulfill Form DS-4085. This is the form you fill in every time you need to request for additional passport pages. Once you are done filling in the details, you can then mail the DS-4085 to the address indicated in the form, along with your current US passport.

If you’re going through the routine passport processing, then you don’t have to pay for anything to have additional US passport pages. However, you can have the process expedited if you need to travel in two to four weeks’ time, which will require additional fees. Expedited passports are faster to process, and you can get your passport in around two to three weeks.

How about if you are a frequent traveler? Then you’re likely to fill in your passport pages faster than most travelers. If that is the case, you will have to request for a new passport book altogether. You’ll need to do this as soon as your passport runs out of pages.

If you are a frequent traveler in need of a new passport book, you will have to submit a signed letter requesting for additional passport pages. Then you will also have to mail it along with the completed DS-82 form, which allows you to apply for a passport by mail. However, if you are not eligible to do this, you can fill in the DS-11, and then submit it personally at the passport office.

When sending your passport application by mail, it is recommended that you send it using a delivery method that can be traced. All modern courier services offer this type of service already. Also remember to place your documents in a tough envelope to prevent it from getting damaged easily when mailed.

What are the options for booking your holidays

When selecting your luxury holidays who will be offering you the best deals? The critics of the travel agent frequently say packaging your own vacation saves you cash and this is what you must do but in today’s unstable world is your money safe? Should you pay more to an agent for peace of mind? Should you book your holidays without delay with an independent operator and cut out the middle man?
