How to Save When Visiting Disney World

Saving money when visiting to DisneyWorld probably seems to be a contradiction in terms, but with some planning and preparation, visitors can have an enjoyable trip to Orlando without running up a huge bill.

The Walt Disney World Resort is definitely huge, with an area of nearly 48 square miles just outside Orlando, Florida. There are four major amusement areas, Epcot, MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom, and the Magic Kingdom. With so much to see, visitors almost always spend at least 7 days or more just to see everything. Disney has constructed more than 14 resorts just to house visitors to the area.

Fortunately, Disney executives recognize that people are looking for different options when going to Orlando. For this reason, they have resorts that fit every budget. Hotels are separated into Value, Moderate, and Deluxe levels. Value is sort of the Walt Disney way of saying cheap, but you won’t be disappointed, as the Disney Value resorts are clean and comfortable. Moderate hotels are one step up, offering bigger rooms and sit down restaurants on site.

Deluxe resorts at Disney are top-of-the-line accommodations built to please and placate any guest. Many of the hotels such as the Contemporary Resort and Polynesian are on the monorail, so you can easily ride to Epcot without using a car or riding a bus. Guest accommodations are much larger, and the Disney World environment is of course magical.

So how do you decide which resort to stay at? Well would you rather use your hard earned cash on gifts or indulge your family with the best, remember you are on vacation? Value options like the Pop Century can cost anywhere from $75 to $110 a night, while Deluxe Resorts start at $225 and go up from there. As you can tell, if you extrapolate that by 7 to 11 days, you could end up spending thousands more just for a better room.

The option belongs to the visitor, but no matter what you decide, you will be sure Disney World cast members will work hard to make sure you and your family have a great visit on your trip away from home.

Vacations in the Scottish town of Stirling And 3 Grand Visitor Attractions You Must See

Stirling has featured strongly in the history of Scotland, especially during crucially important events. The city and surrounding area has a fantastic selection of spectacular tourist attractions and a multitude of photo opportunities. In article that follows I provide information about 3 places to visit in Stirling; Stirling Castle, Stirling Old Town Jail and Argyll’s Lodging:

Stirling Castle

Sat 250 feet above the city of Stirling, and surrounded on three sides by shear cliffs is Stirling Castle. Stirling Castle is very important in Scotland’s history, there have been many coronations within the castle, including Mary Queen of Scots’ in 1543. Stirling Castle was also witness to a horrifying murder in 1452. The eighth Earl of Douglas was victim to James II in 1452. The castle is home to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, although they are, unfortunately no longer stationed there. However, the regimental museum of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, can be found within the castle.

Stirling Old Town Jail

The Stirling Old Town Jail we see today was not the original jail, for four hundred years, Stirling’s prisoners were housed in the Old Tollbooth Jail. This jail was shockingly overcrowded, and smelt disgusting, with twenty four prisoners per cell, and no sanitary facilities. The Tollbooth jail was condemned, due to the awful living conditions there, and in 1847 the current jail opened. Although the jail was classed as a custodial jail, from 1888 to 1935, it was also the only military prison in Scotland. Today the Stirling Old Town Jail is a tourist attraction, and was only renovated in the 1990’s. As well as guided tours, there is a glass paneled elevator that transports one to a viewing deck at the very top of the jail. From commanding viewpoint you is able to gaze out across the Forth Valley, and enjoy the spectacular view of the Highland mountains.

Argyll’s Lodging

Argyll’s Lodging is found on Castle Wynd, situated in the center of Stirling and is Scotland’s best existing renaissance mansion. The house was built circa 1630, by Sir William Alexander, founder of Nova Scotia and Viscount Canada. Sir William Alexander who was appointed Secretary of State for Scotland, and was then appointed the 1st Earl of Stirling. Argyll’s Lodging became the property of the Argyll family on his death and was further extended by the 9th Earl in 1666. The rooms which include the laigh hall, dining room, drawing room and bed chamber, have all been carefully furnished and restored, as they would have looked when the ninth Earl lived there, around 1680.

If you are thinking about having a holiday in Stirling you will discover a large selection of online Stirling hotels and guest houses and you will find a broad selection at http://stirling.hotelreservationhelper.com/

Use Those Cheap Flights to See Europe

For quite a few years now a number of the airlines labelled “low-cost airlines in Europe have been embroiled in a fares war trying to offer the cheapest fares to a huge number of cities throughout Europe. It’s not unusual to see that one of the major budget carriers for example Ryanair or Easyjet is offering return flights from Britain to Spain, Germany or France for £1 (approx $1.45). There could be taxes and airport landing fees to be added to the fare, but it remains an absolute bargain if you’re looking to see a number of cities throughout Europe. One of the biggest drawbacks of flying with the budget airlines is that they often make use of to the smaller municipal airports rather than the more well known majorinternational ones. This sometimes means that a flight that is advertised to a major European city actually lands anything up to 50 miles away. In fact there are a number of advantages with this situation, the smaller airports will normally provide a much faster turnround on luggage and check-in since they’re catering for far fewer flights. The disadvantage is that public transport serving these airports can be patchy at best and an extremely popular alternative is to hire a car from the airport. The following are a variety of the beautiful cities that we have visited whilst making use of cheap floghts from the low cost airlines. We’re sure that you will enjoy a visit to any of these scenic, they certainly have a lot to offer the visitor to their country.

Glasgow, Scotland

Glasgow was once an extremely unattractive industrial monster but it has seen a Renaissance and has become a wonderful, architecturally divine city supporting huge numbers of tourists throughout the year. The chic West part of the city is the home of one of the oldest universities in the U.K.. Situated on a hill in the middle of the Medieval part of the city, the students contribute a great deal to the fun loving and vibrant atmosphere of the area. The low cost carriers use Prestwick Airport some 51 km (35 miles) to the north east of the centre of Glasgow and you will find an excellent road between the airport and the city centre. It’s a popular sightseeing area, so the best idea is to hire a car at Prestwick Airport before setting out on your journey. An uncrowded half hour journey from the airport terminal along the M77 motorway takes you to the city centre. Glasgow is an ideal starting point for an adventure in the Trossachs National Park. Just 13 mile (20 km) journey out of the city and you might discover stunning countryside aback a pony, whereas a 30 mile (50 km) drive east using another excellent motorway will find you in Edinburgh together with its amazing festivals, shopping in Princes Street, the historic Castle and Holyrood Palace.

Florence, Italy

Undoubtedly one of Europe’s most impressively beautiful locations, Florence is served by the airport at Pisa, some 84 km (50 miles) west of the city. Hire a car at Pisa airport and you’ll be perfectly positioned to take in Pisa’s leaning tower, the wonders of historic Florence and a selection of Europe’s most picturesque countryside, that of the disturbingly beautiful Tuscany. It therefore will not come as a huge surprise that Florence is high in the popularity stakes when looking at European cities. Once you arrive at the city of Florence you will discover that much of the centre is pedestrianized thus preserving the many ancient architectural treasures and statues from the vibrations and pollution associated with busy roads. The complete lack of traffic brings a feeling of peace and quiet as you walk from one fragment of history to the next. You do not need to stray too far before being hit by the ghastly, ear splitting roar of Florence’s legion of scooter riders. Apart from the Ponte Vecchio all of the bridges leading to centre of the city are polluted, noisy places, thus giving us a further reason to stay within the ancient alleyways and peaceful sanctuaries of Florence’s beautiful piazzas.

Tours, France

Tours is the ideal centre for discovering France’s beautiful Loire valley and its stunning chateaux The ideal centre for exploring the Loire Valley renowned for its amazing selection of palatial residences, the city has a few charms of its own. Although the little airport is but a couple of miles out of town, it’s almost essential that you rent a car at Tours airport to fully explore a selection of the most picturesque towns and villages to be found throughout France. Along the banks of the River Loire between Sully-sur-Loire and Chalonnes, a number of cultural treasures are presented for the tourist to feast their eyes on. The Loire valley is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers scenic countryside, historic villages and lots of flamboyant castles. During the middle ages the Loire Valley was named the “Retreat of Kings and was a firm favourite of the French royal family. Originally constructed as working fortified castles, the buildings were transformed into the palatial chaeaux that you will find today. The historic towns that line the river banks are a magnet to tourists from all over the world. Towns such as Chinon, Tours and Orleans have lots to see and do whilst the most popular chateau is maybe that on the estate of Chambord. Throughout the region you will find little, family owned vineyards selling a variety of wonderful wines at very low prices. Look out for the word “degustation”, which means sampling I guess, and provided that ‘Le Patron’ is not in the middle of a long leisurely lunch you will be offered a warm welcome and he will be more than willing to lead you through a tasting of all his wines. Of course, it is strongly advised that you take a non-drinker as your chauffer, some of these tasting sessions can get very serious!.

City Breaks In Fort William And A Number Of Fascinating Visitor Attractions You Must See

Fort William is now the largest town in the Highlands (as Inverness became a city). The town is an amazingly popular tourist center with many visitors arriving to view or climb Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. In the article below I discuss a few different attractions well worth visiting if you are taking a vacation in Fort William.

The Immensely Interesting West Highland Museum

The West Highland Museum in Fort William was founded in 1922. A group of people from Lochaber wanted to create a museum, about life in the Highlands, for the people of the Highlands. The current building was purchased in 1926 from the British Linen Bank, and can be found in Cameron Square, just off the Hight Street. Small but fascinating is how many people describe the museum. The exhibits of the museum present a delightful look into life in the West Highlands throughout the years. People from all walks of life are represented, through the superb collections of artefact’s, photograph’s and picture’s

The Imposing Old Inverlochy Castle

There are two Inverlochy Castle’s in Fort William, the Old Inverlochy Castle and the new Victorian, chateau-style Inverlochy Castle, erected in the village of Torlundy (which is now a luxurious hotel). The Old castle was rumoured to of been built around 1270-1280, by John “the Black” Comyn, Lord of Badenoch and Lochaber, and chief of the Clan Comyn. Even though the castle is ruined, the layout has not altered much since it was first built. Lord Abinger carried out alterations and enhancements to the house, for a visit by Queen Victoria. Old Inverlochy Castle remains an important part of Scottish and English history, because of the part it played during the Civil Wars of the 1640’s.

The Delightful Jacobite Steam Train

An excursion on the Jacobite Steam Train, is an awe inspiring way to enjoy the awe inspiring scenery of the Highlands. The Fort William to the Mallaig trip takes you on a breathtaking ride through the glens. One of the most riveting parts of the tour is traveling across the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which the majority of travelers will know thanks to the fact that it was used in the movies of the exploits of Harry Potter and his pals. The 84 mile excursion takes you past Ben Nevis, Loch Morar and Loch Nevis, with a break in Glenfinnan before arriving in Mallaig. There is about an hour and half in which to look around Mallaig, before the return journey, back to Fort William. This journey has repeatedly been described as, one of the Great Railway Journeys of the planet.

There is plenty of accommodation in Fort William available to book online but you will find a comprehensive list of hotels in Fort William at http://www.fortwilliamhotelscotland.com/

Have The Experience Of Your Spain Tour For Lifetime

While your initial impression of Spain may be one of popular stereotypes – bullfights and Flamenco dancers – in reality it’s an incredibly magnificent country of outstanding landscapes, accentuated by a synergy of mind-blowing architectural integrating a diversity of genres unlike anywhere else in the world. Combined through a smorgasbord of arts, culture, gastronomy, attitudes and styles, many reflecting its tremendous history, Spain is a constitution of a variety of original regional societies that today remain as proudly distinct as they are united within the fabric of a single country.

The Spanish people are among the most open-hearted and communicative in the world; making friends won’t be any problem, especially in the larger urban areas. There is a legendary saying that the Spanish living room is the bar where the people normally spend a lot of their time. And the only way to fully appreciate the excellence of this ‘community’ is to travel Spain from top to bottom.

This synergy has not come easily; past centuries have witnessed incursions by every dominating power of that era: Iberians, Celts, Phonecians, Greeks, Romans, Gothics, Muslims, Christians, Arabs, Moors, French – each contributing to the amalgam which is now the cultural of Spain.

Travel Spain: When To Visit And How To Travel?

Typically, the most temperate climate can be enjoyed, depending on the region, between April and October, when you can rely on good moderate weather. But if your objective is to take in some of the numerous national and regional cultural festivals happening during the summer, your best bet is to visit between Easter and September.

But remember, to travel Spain in the summer means you are visiting during the high season, both the coastal and interior regions of Spain; in mid-summer, the inland cities empty out and everyone migrates to the coasts, and the Iberian Peninsula is packed with tourists outnumbering residents. If you are destined to make a trip to Spain in mid-summer, do plan ahead, and prepare yourself for a really busy (but exciting) vacation; an additional gain of not travelling in this peak period is naturally the rates charged by travel, accommodation and entertainment services.

Travel Spain By Train And Metro

Spain is well-serviced by international and regional airports with excellent connections to Europe and the rest of the world; a popular way to travel Spain, perhaps as a component of a European trip, is to use the excellent rail systems. Bus travel is well-developed in Spain, and may be quicker than trains of you are planning to cover a variety of destinations in any area; many train stations are located some distance outside of major cities and towns. But if your plans to travel Spain require you to be as flexible as possible, renting a car is possibly the best option.

Spanish trains are the most inexpensive in Europe, and provide excellent connection to all cities in Spain through an integrated network of national, regional and inter-city rail options, necessitated by the historical development of regional train services based on incompatible narrow and wide-gauge formats.

But the range of available rail options (for example, high-speed, sleeper car, dining/hospitality, commuter) provides you the flexibility to travel Spain while leveraging your rail component to also serve as accommodation and mobile restaurant – a  savings in time and money which provides the means to extend your enjoyment of Spain’s cultural diversity a little longer.

In major Spanish cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, or to travel Granada Spain, subway systems are a convenient way to see most of the sites of the city, especially if the weather is not cooperating or you have a long distance to cover.

Travel Spain Outside The Metropolitan Areas

Why travel Spain outside of the big cities? In two words – beaches, and countryside.

Excellent beaches are found along most of Spain’s coast, near Malaga, Huelva and Almería in the south as well as near the coasts of La Manga, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and Euskadi. If, however, your objective is wild and crazy packed beaches and resorts, there are plenty of crowded beaches on the Costa de la Luz and the Costa del Sol.

However, if fresh air is your objective, the Spanish countryside is filled with incredible geography unparalleled vistas and phenomenal photographic opportunities. In addition, there are areas which offer trekking, mountain-climbing, wildlife parks, cave exploration, horse riding, and even deserts. To travel Spain is indeed experience a lifetime of activities and fun in the space of a vacation.
